Modus Operandi
I recently came across a job posting on Shine.com claiming to offer a ClickHouse Internship at Quantrail Data:
https://www.shine.com/jobs/data-engineer-clickhouse-internship/quantrail-data/17405280
Curious, I applied – and that’s when the scam revealed itself.
A person named Anish Kumar contacted me, claiming he was hiring for Indigo, not Quantrail. He asked me to pay ₹2,500 upfront for an “exam” to secure the internship. He even sent a suspicious link (Beware)

⚠️ This is a scam. ⚠️
Red Flags
- Asking for money for a job = never legit
- Company mismatch = Quantrail vs Indigo
- Shady links and high-pressure tactics = classic scam signs
What to do
- Verify job postings on official company sites or Linkedin Job pages
- Don’t pay money for exams or registrations.
- Report suspicious listings immediately.
Lesson learned
Scammers are getting creative, targeting eager job seekers in niche areas like ClickHouse and Data Engineering.
Job scams like this prey on your ambition and trust. Don’t let them trick you. Stay vigilant, spread the word, and protect your future!
